“ Update 01 2025.....the radicchio / fennel / citrus salad was exceptional. Update-10 19 2023......AMAZING!!!!! The roasted cauliflower and radicchio salad is off the charts. ......HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Grassa is a good addition to the Vancouver waterfront dining scene but the music can be obnoxiously loud . The space at Grassa is open and , in general , comfortable. Service and ordering is at the counter with an order number assigned at the time of payment. I ordered the fusilli , a caesar salad and a side order of meatballs. Water is available at the counter---self serve as well. The order was brought to the table promptly . The caesar salad was excellent---top shelf. The dressing was good and just the correct amount . The preserved lemon was a great added touch. The fusilli was moderately spicy and very tasty . Cooked perfectly al dente. The pasta is made on-site behind the counter to the left of the ordering station. The meatballs, served 3 per order, were also delicious. The entire meal was more than enough for two moderate eater to share. The open window to the street at tableside on a perfect PNW day , added to the casual and pleasant ambiance--------------except for the loud music played overhead . The music is so loud that conversation with table mates can be difficult. The other issue was a dirty bathroom that needed attention. The prices charged are reasonable for the good quality of the food and I feel I received good value for the money. Grassa has only recently opened as of the date of this review. I'm looking forward to more return visits hoping that the 2 issues mentioned above are resolved once Grassa gets past any newly-opened restaurant issues UPDATE---I had the carbonara.....off the charts. My new favorite . ”
“ Really like the concept of upscale fast casual italian at a decent price. Food was excellent. Ordering was a bit slow as person taking order was also making cocktails, so each order with a cocktail took like forever. If no cocktail like ours, it was real quick. Food came out fairly quickly. ”
“ Not what I would call a authentic Italian restaurant vibe but excellent, authentic pasta. I like the Fusilli Alla Vodka and the rigatoni. The garlic bread is very good. The meatballs were decent. Wine is served in a juice glass. The malbec is just ok. I won't order wine again there. Margaritas are served in a pint glass but is refreshing. You order at the counter and they bring you the food (think Killer Burger). The portions are ample and larger than the Google Maps photos show. All that for under 80. I consider that a decent value. “ The place was so clean and calm. I sat at the area where you can watch the pasta being prepared, it was such a nice environment. I got the black truffle pappardelle and fried Brussels sprouts. Everything tasted so fresh and the mustard seed aioli they toss the Brussels sprouts in was heaven sent! You order at the counter, they give you a number and you seat yourself. I’d definitely go back to try another pasta dish and get those sprouts!! ”
“ Excellent pastas and other similar dishes. The handmade pastas are tastes fresh and certainly different from other regular manufactured ones. Great food normally available only at luxury restaurant, a good price if you're willing to self serve for water, take outs, etc. ”
“ I really enjoy this restaurant. I always bring my out of town guest here. The food is good consistently and the foh are really pleasant to interact with. Boh deserves a raise, my tummy is happy everytime I leave. ”
“ Had a short dinner break before and event and was staying at a hotel on the waterfront, and was glad to be able to order at the counter before sitting down. The pasta was good. I didn't know what I wanted and the cashier helped me decide. I will say having images for those of us not highly familiar with different types of pastas or sauces, would be helpful. Loved what I got! The serving size was also just right. And timing was good. Totally would go back. ”
“ Came here for lunch with my Mom, she got the fried shrimp pasta, strozzapreti. And I got Carbonara with a fried egg (not pictured). She really enjoyed her dish and I enjoyed mine! Kinda strange to order at the bar, but everything else was fine. Dishes arrived hot . When I come back to town to visit Mom, we will come again ”
